The week in one paragraph

The Pulse Index barely moved this week, easing just −0.1% to 98.00, but the flat headline hid real extremes underneath. Wednesday (Sep 24) produced the busiest trading day we've tracked in weeks: 257 confirmed sales and $4.4M in dollar flow, before activity reverted through the back half of the week and closed at its softest print in over a month: just 96 confirmed sales on Sunday (Sep 27). The average watch fell further than the headline, down −1.3% to 98.02, and breadth tipped negative for the first time in a few weeks, 6 gainers against 8 decliners. The gap between the week's best and worst performer widened to nearly 24 points, again the widest rotation gap we've tracked, echoing last week's pattern with an entirely new cast of leaders and laggards.

Movers of the week

Explorer II (226570)+15.1%Best performer of the week by a wide margin, breaking out of its recent range, though this reference runs on a thinner sample than most of the basket, so treat the size of the move with some caution
Datejust 41 Smooth (126300)+10.0%Second-strongest print; the market's entry point firmed up on solid volume
Explorer 36 (124270)+8.6%Third-strongest; the basket's cheapest reference caught a bid alongside its Explorer II sibling above
Sea-Dweller (126600)−6.1%Eased alongside broader dive-watch softness this week
Submariner Hulk (116610LV)−6.8%Cooled off after a strong recent run; the discontinued green icon gave back some of its premium

Liquidity read

Confirmed sales averaged 158/day this week, below the 185 baseline and pulled down by Sunday's soft close. Wednesday (Sep 24) was by far the busiest session, with 257 confirmed sales and $4.4M in dollar flow, more than double the pace the week eventually closed at, before volume reverted through Thursday and Friday and fell to just 96 confirmed sales and $1.6M on Sunday (Sep 27), the quietest print in over a month. Dollar flow averaged roughly $2.7M/day across the seven days, for a total of about $18.8M for the week. Spreads between Bob's Watches buy prices and Chrono24 asking prices ranged from 27% to 34% across the week, tracking the usual noise band with no bracket violations on any tracked reference on any day.

Methodology notes: Prices are market values (asking prices adjusted by the observed ask to sold gap), computed from roughly 14,700 to 14,850 tracked listings with manipulation screens, evidence weighted updating, and mix shift controls. A sale counts only after it is verified missing across two consecutive daily sweeps. Explorer II and Sea-Dweller cleared thinner samples than the rest of the basket on some days this week (single digits); their moves are directionally real but carry a wider band than a high-volume reference like the Datejust or Submariner Date.
