The week in one paragraph

A choppy, headline-rich week that netted out to roughly flat: the Pulse Index eased −0.8% to 98.49 while the average watch ticked up +0.6% — the widest headline-vs-average gap since launch, a sign the moves were concentrated rather than broad. The typical sale price told the wilder story: a new high on Thursday ($15,186), a new low on Saturday ($14,677), and another new high on Sunday ($15,281). Those daily swings came on thin weekend trading, so the protected headline index — which weighs each day's evidence by sample size — sat out most of the whipsaw. Breadth finished balanced at 7 of 14 watches up. Trading pace averaged a healthy 223 sales/day but cooled all week, ending Sunday at the quietest confirmed-sales day on record (71.5 on the heat gauge).

Liquidity read

Confirmed sales averaged 223/day against the 185 baseline — an active week in total — but the shape was one-way: a hot Monday (356 sales, $6.3M) faded steadily into Sunday's record-quiet 133 sales and $2.4M. Dollar flow averaged $4.0M/day. Dealer bids held completely flat all week while asking prices slid mid-week, briefly compressing the ask-over-bid premium from ~37% to ~29% — sellers blinking first, dealers not chasing. That premium snapping back by Sunday's high-priced (but thin) session is the tell that mix, not conviction, drove the weekend swings.

Data notes

Our upstream listings monitor missed its July 15 and 16 sweeps (scheduler outage). It resumed July 17 with a complete backfill — all missed days were recovered at ~100% completeness and every pending sale was confirmed through the usual two-day verification, so no sales were lost; the index simply printed three days at once on July 17. Separately, the share of confirmed sales carrying a usable price settled at ~83% this week (from ~100% earlier in July) — still comfortably above our quality gate, and prices are unaffected because unpriced rows never enter the price calculation.

Methodology notes: prices are market values (asking prices adjusted by the observed ask-to-sold gap), computed from ~14,500 tracked listings with manipulation screens, evidence-weighted updating, and mix-shift controls. A sale counts only after it is verified missing across two consecutive daily sweeps. Informational only, not investment advice. © The Pulse · thepulse.fun
