The week in one paragraph

The Rolex market firmed up modestly: the Pulse Index rose +0.9% to 99.27, recovering about half of early-July's dip while staying below its May launch level. Breadth was healthy, with 9 of 14 watches up on the week. The headline and the average watch moved together (gap of just 0.4 points), meaning the gains were broad rather than driven by one or two heavyweights. Trading activity told the opposite story: after a hot start to the month, the market's pace cooled steadily all week, ending Sunday at the quietest confirmed-sales day on record (93 on the heat gauge, first sub-100 reading).

Liquidity read

Confirmed sales averaged 228/day against a baseline of 185 (still an active market), but the trend inside the week was one-way: from a 186 heat reading on Tuesday to 93 by Sunday. Dollar flow followed, ending at $3.1M/day. Some of this is a genuine summer-weekend lull; some is the new, stricter sale-confirmation rule (a sale now needs to be verified across two consecutive days before it counts, which removed the fake volume spikes from earlier this month). The heat gauge's baseline behavior under the new rule will settle over the next week or two.

Methodology notes: prices are market values (asking prices adjusted by the observed ask-to-sold gap), computed from thousands of tracked listings with manipulation screens and mix-shift controls. This week included a one-time upstream data correction (documented as errata July 11): phantom removals from a scraper outage were cleaned and model mis-tags fixed, making the current history cleaner than what was originally printed.
